I feel like since I haven’t posted in a long time that there must be something that I am supposed to write about or some great story I have to tell, but really I haven’t been writing cause there hasn’t been much going on. Which is kind of odd because that’s not to say that I haven’t been doing stuff and hanging out with people more, rather I haven’t been watching as much PBS or reading as much Bryson. And it’s not that I haven’t had the time, I really don’t know what I’ve been up to recently that takes up so much time but it just seems like there isn’t much available to write. I have been doing a little more offline journaling but that doesn’t exactly account for much. Anyway, I’m sure you are thoroughly bored by now so I’ll get on to something more interesting.

Last Friday I watched a documentary on crossword puzzles and I have been doing them almost non stop since then. I realized yesterday that I’m not quite NY Times Sunday edition ready, but I’m working on getting there. It is just hard to find good material. I found one site where I can download crosswords for free but some of the clues are really random and hard to follow sometimes. “Fertilizer ingredient,” urea? What the heck is that? Anyway, I did buy a crossword dictionary so that has actually been a big help. I’m thinking of this as a round about way for studying for the GRE.

I have been looking a little bit more at different options for getting some tech training too. Maybe going for something like the A+ certification. I’ve heard some stuff about how the whole A+ thing is kind of overrated and doesn’t mean much but I’m more interested with the rubber stamp of approval than the any knowledge I might pick up. If I had been born 5 years earlier I would be a Microsoft millionaire right now. It was fun at work today to chat with a guy for a few minutes about computers. Renee was complaining about our computers up front being too slow to which he asked if they were 286’s. I laughed a little to myself and said it wasn’t quite that bad. I told him then about the OLD 8088 that the church used to have and he laughed at that. We then both laughed about how computers used to have a turbo button to slow down the processor. That whole idea seems ridiculous today!

Quick music plugs, John Rutter has some great chamber and compline music I found in the Zune Marketplace. Ray LaMontagne is still awesome, Iron & Wine is starting to grow on me, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have a new album I’ve just gotten around to listening too, and Face of Love by Sanctus Real is a really great album. Well, that’s enough for now. Peace!
